Use your health insurance for therapy
If your private health insurance covers psychological therapy, you may be able to use it for online sessions with Dr Kayleigh Darch — an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist and a recognised provider for Bupa, Aviva and WPA. The same confidential, evidence-based approach; the only difference is who pays the invoice.
Recognised insurers
Recognised by Bupa, Aviva and WPA
Kayleigh is a recognised provider for the three insurers below. Where the insurer publishes a public directory you can check her listing yourself; where they don't, you can confirm her recognition in minutes through your own member portal.
Bupa
Recognised & fee assured
Kayleigh is a Bupa-recognised, fee-assured Clinical Psychologist. Bupa is the only one of these insurers with a public consultant directory, so you can check her listing yourself before you book.
Aviva
Recognised provider
Kayleigh is a recognised provider for Aviva. Aviva does not publish a public directory of recognised practitioners, so her listing cannot be linked from here — Aviva members can confirm her recognition and their own cover by signing in to MyAviva or calling the number on their policy documents.
WPA
Recognised provider
Kayleigh is a recognised provider for WPA. WPA does not publish a public directory of recognised practitioners either, so her listing cannot be linked from here — WPA members can confirm her recognition and their own cover through the My WPA customer portal or their policy helpline.
Insured with someone else? Get in touch — many policies still let you see an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist of your choice, and we're happy to supply whatever your insurer needs.
How it works
Three simple steps
Every policy is different, so your insurer is always the best source of truth on what's covered. In broad terms, the process looks like this.
1
Check your cover
Contact Bupa, Aviva or WPA and tell them you'd like to see a Clinical Psychologist for psychological therapy. They'll talk you through what your policy covers and any excess that applies.
2
Get authorisation
Most insurers ask you to obtain an authorisation or pre-approval number before your first session. Your insurer will tell you exactly what they need and give you this reference — including Kayleigh's provider details if they ask for them.
3
Book your session
Book a free introductory call or email Kayleigh with your authorisation details, and we'll take care of the rest. Everything else about therapy stays exactly the same.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
- Are you recognised by Bupa?
- Yes. Kayleigh is a Bupa-recognised, fee-assured, HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist — you can verify her listing on the Bupa Finder directory. Bupa members can have their sessions funded through their policy where their plan covers psychological therapy.
- Are you recognised by Aviva?
- Yes. Kayleigh is a recognised provider for Aviva. Aviva does not publish a public directory of recognised practitioners, so there is no listing to link to here — Aviva members can confirm her recognition and check their own cover by signing in to MyAviva or calling the number on their policy documents. If Aviva asks for anything in writing, Kayleigh will provide it.
- Are you recognised by WPA?
- Yes. Kayleigh is a recognised provider for WPA. WPA also has no publicly searchable practitioner directory, so her listing cannot be linked from this page — WPA members can confirm her recognition and their cover through the My WPA customer portal or their policy helpline.
- Why can I check Bupa but not Aviva or WPA?
- Bupa is the only one of the three that runs a public consultant directory (Bupa Finder), which anyone can search without logging in. Aviva and WPA keep their recognised-provider lists inside their member systems, so verification happens through your own account rather than a public web page. It's a difference in how each insurer publishes information, not a difference in Kayleigh's recognition.
- How do I know if my policy covers therapy?
- Your insurer's helpline is the best place to start — cover varies from policy to policy. They can confirm whether psychological therapy is included, how many sessions are covered, and whether any excess applies.
- What if my insurance doesn't cover everything?
- Any shortfall or excess your policy doesn't cover can be paid directly. Kayleigh will always be transparent about costs before you begin.
- Can I pay directly instead?
- Absolutely. Therapy is available on a direct-pay basis at £120 per session (up to 60 minutes) — no insurance needed.
- How can I check your professional credentials?
- Kayleigh is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist (reg. PYL30133) — you can check the HCPC register directly. She also holds a verified Psychology Today profile, which means Psychology Today have independently fact-checked her registration and that it is current and in good standing.
Prefer to pay directly? See the online clinical psychology page for direct-pay pricing.
